KUALA LUMPUR: Bandar Tun Razak MCA division is ready to move on after being told that the seat would be contested by Umno in the coming 14th General Election (GE14).
Its chairman Datuk Chew Yin Keen said the party supporters had accepted the fact that MCA wouldn’t be contesting in Bandar Tun Razak.
Despite the rejection, Chew was able to handle the disappointment especially among his supporters.
They had expected him to be nominated to contest in Bandar Tun Razak, which had always been an MCA constituency.
“In any circumstances, people will feel sad on being rejected.
“But we must look at the spirit of Barisan Nasional (BN) and party agenda,” he told the New Straits Times.
Chew pledged that the division would work closely with Umno and other BN component parties in Bandar Tun Razak to ensure victory.
Bandar Tun Razak will be contested by Adnan Abu Seman who is the Umno youth chief there.
Adnan is among the three new faces fielded by BN in Kuala Lumpur for GE14.
