ALOR STAR: Non-governmental organisation, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Pekida) is urging Kedahans to continue giving Barisan Nasional (BN) the mandate in the state in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Its president, Jamaludin Yusof said BN has proven its ability in placing Kedah on the right track to becoming a developed state, upholding the sanctity of Islam and preserving peace and harmony.

He said the BN government under Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has proven its ability to manage the state and has resolved many issues in Kedah.

“We are satisfied with the performance of the state BN government led by Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah, thus there is no need to change the government.

“We are also lending our full support to Bashah and BN in Kedah and wish to call for all our members in the state and their families to support BN in GE14,” he said at a press conference here today.

Jamaludin who is also state Pekida chairman, also urged BN leaders who may be dropped from defending their respective seats, to remain calm and avoid doing anything that could jeopardise the party’s chances.

He said Pekida has a total of 105,000 members nationwide with 23,000 of them in Kedah.
