KUALA LUMPUR: PKR candidate, Fong Kui Lun retained the Bukit Bintang parliamentary seat with a 37,260-vote majority.

Fong, of DAP, defeated Barisan Nasional (BN) newcomer, Ann Tan Ean Ean and Khairul Husni Othman of Penang Front Party (PFP) in a three-cornered fight.

Fong secured 44,516 votes against Ean Ean’s 7,256 votes and Khairul Husni’s 636 votes.

The election results were announced by Election Commission (EC) Returning Officer Abdul Hamid Surip at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Victoria.

He said 75.9 per cent of the 69,526 registered voters cast their votes. EC recorded 254 spoilt votes, and 103 unreturned votes.
