SANDAKAN: Four state Umno MPs are expected to announce their departure from the party, today.
They are Datuk Abd Rahim Bakri (Kudat); Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun (Beaufort); Datuk Zakaria Edris (Libaran) and Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee (Beluran).
According to a news portal, of the five Umno MPs from Sabah, only Datuk Bung Moktar Radin (Kinabatangan) will remain with Umno.
Meanwhile, Sabah Umno secretary Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, when contacted, said the state party chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is expected to hold a press conference on the matter at 1pm, tomorrow.
Efforts to contact the four Sabah Umno MPs were futile.
Yesterday, Sukau assemblyman Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman, who left Umno in August to become an independent representative, announced joining Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan).
Former Batu Sapi Umno division chief Datuk Samsudin Yahya is also expected to quit the party with several division chiefs to join the governing party.
In the 14th General Election (GE14), Samsudin failed to defend his Sekong state seat, which went to Arifin Asgali of Warisan when he polled 6,470 votes compared to the former's 4,705 votes.
Other Umno leaders who had quit the party is Kimanis assblyman Datuk Seri Anifah Aman.
Former Beluran Umno division chief Datuk James Ratib also left and joined United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (Upko).
On May 11, four Umno MPs quit the party and joined Warisan. They are Datuk Abdul Muis Picho (Sebatik), Datuk Hamisa Samat (Tanjung Batu), Datuk Osman Jamal (Balung) and Jamawi Jaafar (Kemabong).
