GEORGE TOWN: Pakatan Harapan (PH) is in the dark over a purported meeting between several PKR and Barisan Nasional members of parliament (MPs) at the home of PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali on Monday night.

PKR vice-president Datuk Dr Xavier Jayakumar said the PH presidential council was not informed of the meeting.

He said anyone from PH, who wished to have any meeting with any party, should first notify the PH presidential council.

This, he said, was because any decision undertaken would be made collectively by all PH component parties.

“That should be the process.

“In this case, it (the meeting) was not officially informed to the PH presidential council.

“I was not informed about the meeting. We were not in the know,” he said.

It was reported that Azmin had met some 30 BN MPs at his house in Precinct 10, Putrajaya.

The nature of the meeting and what transpired is not known.

It is learnt that PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamarudin and BN’s Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein were among those at the meeting.

The meeting came in the wake of PH’s disastrous defeat in the Tanjung Piai parliamentary by-election.
