JOHOR BARU: Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) will organise a convention in Apri to highlight all the initiatives that the coalition had taken since taking over the state government following the 14th general election.
Johor PH chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the convention will also provide an opportunity for the PH leadership at all levels to give their feedback on important issues, including state and federal government policies.
"It is appropriate that after two years, we should organise a convention because there have been various efforts by the state government that the people are unaware of.
"This convention will highlight all the initiatives that the state government have taken and the direction for the future," said Muhyiddin.
He said details of the convention will be announced by the organising committee headed by Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal.
Muhyiddin was speaking to the media after chairing the Johor PH meeting at the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) office, here.
"There will also be a convention by the youth and women's wings."
In another development, Muhyiddin said the meeting also agreed on the appointment of Sahruddin as a deputy chairman of Johor PH.
"This will enable Sahruddin to have active participation in Johor PH and provide information on issues that are raised in Johor.
"These information will be useful for Johor PH. The Johor PH leadership will also be able to give their opinions on these issues," said Muhyiddin.
Sahruddin's appointment means that there are now five deputy chairmen in Johor PH.
The other deputy chairmen are Johor Bersatu chairman Mazlan Bujang, Johor PKR chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong and Johor Parti Amanah Negara chairman Aminolhuda Hassan.
When asked about the possible formation of a unity government with Umno and Pas, Muhyiddin said the matter was not discussed in the meeting.
