IPOH: A small-scale ceremony was held at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan today to welcome Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu’s return as Perak Menteri Besar.
“The ceremony was held without the media as a preventive measure against the Covid-19 spread,” read a statement from the Menteri Besar’s Office.
The Chenderiang assemblyman has been sworn in as the 13th menteri besar of Perak for the second time before Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah on Friday.
Ahmad Faizal who arrived at 8.30am, was received by deputy state Secretary (management) Nor Sham Rahman and state Finance Officer, Datuk Zulazlan Abu Hassan, heads of department and state government officers.
On Mac 10, Ahmad Faizal submitted his resignation letter as Perak menteri besar and all other posts to the sultan of Perak after Bersatu, Umno and Pas joined forces to form a Perikatan Nasional state government with a 32-seat majority.
The statement also said that after clocking in, Ahmad Faizal was briefed by state Health Department officers before chairing the state security council meeting
“The meeting will discuss the administration of state, departments and agencies following the restricted movement order as announced by the prime minister yesterday.”
