BAYAN LEPAS: A fight broke out between a taxi driver and a Grab driver at the Penang International Airport here yesterday.

In the 3.50pm incident, a 52-year-old taxi driver was said to have made a sudden turn which forced a 30-year-old Grab driver to slam on his emergency brakes near the departure hall of the airport.

A scuffle then broke out between the two before passers-by intervened to stop them from fighting.

However, the incident did not end there. The drivers drove some distance away and stopped by the roadside to engage in a fist fight.

Motorists broke up the fight.

The taxi driver had a broken nail while the Grab driver needed three stitches on his left cheek.

Both received treatment at Balik Pulau Hospital.

Southwest district police chief Superintendent A. Anbalagan said that both of them would be charged at the Balik Pulau magistrates court tomorrow.

The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for committing an affray.
