KUALA LUMPUR: A Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) survey reveals that 75.3 per cent of Lembah Pantai constituents feel their member of parliament, Nurul Izzah Anwar, has failed to fulfil her promises, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said 74.5 per cent of Lembah Pantai residents surveyed said they had received assistance from the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.

“Our government cares about every stakeholder. We are not seasonal players. The Lembah Pantai Residents Representative Council is always here to help the people,” he said at the Rumah Mesra programme with Lembah Pantai residents at the Desa Aman 1 multi-purpose hall today.

The survey, which involved 5,600 respondents, was conducted by UiTM students between Oct and Dec last year based.

It also found that 58.9 per cent of the voters might swing back to BN in the 14th General Election.

The survey established that 70.1 per cent of respondents think only the BN-led government could look after the future of the parliamentary constituency.

Zahid, who is also the home minister, said the government would allocate funds for upgrading and maintenance works at the Desa Aman police quarters.

“We will replace the lifts at the Desa Aman 1 and Desa Aman 2 police quarters and repaint all the blocks.

“This is not my final visit here. I will come back again to monitor the welfare of the policemen and Lembah Pantai voters.”

The Desa Aman police quarters were built in 1995 with 360 units that mainly housed policemen working in Kuala Lumpur.

Present were Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, City police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim and Lembah Pantai Umno division chief Datuk Seri Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.
