PM expresses concern over Ranau earthquake; promises aidMarch 9, 2018 @ 9:52AM

KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has reacted with concern to news of the 5.2 magnitude earthquake which struck Ranau, Sabah last night.
In his latest Twitter post, Najib urged those affected to take necessary precautions, and assured them that the government is extending all assistance needed.
"Received the news of earthquake in Ranau, I was informed there was no casualties.
"I hope those in affected areas (will) take precautions. Government will ensure necessary assistance always available,” he tweeted.
The earthquake struck at a depth of 5 kilometres and some damage has been reported.
In a statement, the Meteorology Department said that the quake struck at 9.06pm at 6.1 north, 116.6 east, about 16 kilometres northwest of Ranau.
