KUALA LUMPUR: PKNS FC proved they are serious about becoming a title contender in the M-League after signing Brazilian Rafael Ramazotti de Quatros to fill their fifth and final import slot for this season.
This was confirmed by team manager Mahfizul Rusydin Abd Rashid who believes that the 29-year-old will boost the PKNS strikeforce.
“Coach K. Rajagobal is confident the player will be able to slot right into the system used at PKNS,” said Mahfizul.
"Although we already have some very good local strikers in Safee Sali and Jafri Firdaus Chew, Rafael will strengthen our attack
"Rafael was also evaluated based on his performance in the Singapore League."
Rafael, who previously turned out for DPMM FC, emerged as the Singapore League's top scorer in 2015 (21 goals), 2016 (20 goals) and was third in 2017 (14).
Besides Rafael, PKNS have signed four imports - Faris Ramli (Singapore), Romel Morales (Colombia), Zac Anderson (Australia) and Jonathan Acosta (Argentina).
