MELAKA: Midfielder Liridon Krasniqi has signed a one-year contract with Super League side Melaka.
Pahang were first interested to sign the 27-year-old after Kedah decided to let the Kosovo Albanian go.
However, the east coast side decided not to pursue after he was linked with former AFC Cup champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).
Melaka coach Zainal Abidin Hassan thanked Menteri Besar Adly Zahari for agreeing to sign Krasniqi.
“Krasniqi has been training with us for the past few days and things are looking good.
“He completes our lineup and he will marshal our midfield with former national captain Safiq Rahim,” said Zainal.
Krasniqi will play his first official match for Melaka in a friendly against Sarawak at the Hang Jebat Stadium here on Monday.
Melaka’s other top signings for the new season are Razman Roslan, Raimi Md. Nor, Nazrin Nawi and former national captain Shukor Adan.
