MATTHEW Davies has left Pahang ahead of the new M-League season, which starts on Feb 28.
It is understood that the 25-year-old defender will join Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).
A reliable source confirmed that the Australian-born is no longer with the Elephants.
“News shared on social media about Davies parting ways with Pahang is true. He is no longer training with the club.
“Dollah Salleh’s side are now feeling the heat as the M-League is only two weeks away.
“Pahang now have a huge void to fill as they do not have an able replacement for the right-back position,” said the source yesterday.
However, the source declined to reveal details of Davies’ next destination.
Davies, who is of Malaysian-Australian parentage, joined Pahang in 2015 after being granted Malaysian citizenship.
