The Covid-19 pandemic and Movement Control Order (MCO) have left the Malaysian sports community in a spin.
For former national squash player Delia Arnold, it has been a challenging yet exciting period.
That is because the 34-year-old national coach, who is pregnant with her second child, is due to deliver in May.
Despite feeling concerned over how things have become, former World No 12 Delia is looking forward to welcoming another member to her family.
“My husband and I are very excited to have a second baby. And it’s going to be exciting to see how my daughter reacts when she sees her sibling,” said Delia who is married to former national badminton player Robert Lin, and has a three-year-old daughter, Sarah.
“Of course, it’s a bit challenging and I do get a little anxious at this late stage of pregnancy in times like this.
“I try to stay home whenever possible and I definitely wear a mask if I need to go out while also avoiding crowded areas.
“What’s important is that my second daughter will be born healthy.
“On the brighter side, expecting a second child helps take my mind off the worries regarding the Coronavirus outbreak.
“I hope all the other national athletes, who are affected by the MCO, stay strong and positive until the situation eases up,” added Delia.
