JACKIE Wong is relieved that all 48 individuals, comprising athletes, coaches and officials, who came in close contact with the hammer champion, have tested negative for Covid-19.
Out of the 48 individuals, 37 were athletes.
The 27-year-old, a silver medallist at last year’s Philippines Sea Games, was tested positive for the virus on March 16 and is now warded at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
The 48 individuals were quarantined at the National Sports Council hostel on the same day Jackie was confirmed positive.
“I am glad that all 48 individuals have tested negative for Covid-19,” said Jackie on Facebook.
Jackie also confirmed that he had contracted the virus from his father after returning to his hometown in Sarikei, Sarawak on March 11.
“My dad contracted Covid-19 during his flight from KL to Sibu on March 2. Among those on the fight were attendees of the Tabligh gathering (in Seri Petaling).”
