RESIDENT in Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya, claim that loud karaoke sessions at a nearby restaurant are disturbing the peace in the area.
Kenni Eron Lee, who lives at Cahaya Apartments, said he had lodged several complaints with the authorities, but no action was taken.
“This has caused disturbance in our area and some of us have young children,” he said.
He added that the restaurant began operations three years ago.
“Since April last year, I have lodged several police reports about the noise.
“I was told that the eatery came under the jurisdiction of the Petaling Jaya City Council.”
Lee hoped the authorities would take action soon.
A Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) spokesman said a warning would be issued to the owner of the premises soon.
“The owner would be given two weeks to stop activities that caused public disturbance,” the spokesman said.
“If the owner fails to comply with the regulations, MBPJ will close down the restaurant.”
