KUALA LUMPUR: Bumi Armada Bhd’s unit Bumi Armada Caspian LLC (BAC) has signed a supplementary agreement with LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft LLC (LUKOIL) worth US$134 million for additional engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) scope.
Back in December 2013, Bumi Armada had bagged a 10-year, US$262 million contract from Russia’s Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft Ltd.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing today, Bumi Armada said the additional scope will involve BAC’s marine spread to lay subsea pipelines and undertake post trenching and back-filling works on sections of the Filanovsky field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
Bumi Armada executive director and chief executive officer Leon Harland said this job win highlighted the continuing strong rapport with LUKOIL and its confidence in delivering high quality Subsea Construction services in the Caspian Sea.
“The additional scope under the contract involves the EPCI of about 20km of various pipelines in the Filanovsky field involving the Armada Installer and Armada Constructor vessels,” he said.
“This job is expected to be completed in the second half of 2018,” he added.
Back in 2013, Bumi Armada was awarded a contract to provide three ice-class vessels to service offshore platforms in the Filanovsky field. That contract had the option for extensions up to 20 years, estimated to be worth US$483 million.
