KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd is making a bigger push into gaming industry, which is one of the fastest-growing industries in the country, to add to its revenue streams.

Media Prima Labs and Operation general manager Nicholas Sagau said the company is set to benefit from higher advertising revenue moving forward, on the back of potential 300,000 unique visitors to its newly-launched MyGameOn online portal for the first six months.

"We plan to invest more and be more aggressive into the game industry. In the last two years, we had spent millions of ringgit to expand our business into the industry.

"There is no single news portal out there that focuses on game content with Malaysian twists. This is an opportunity for us to give coverage on the latest trend or news related to games and game tournaments in Malaysia and Southeast Asia for Malaysians.

"Advertisers have also contacted us to express their interests to advertise with us. This is a progress for us," he told reporters here today.

MyGameOn, which comes in two languages  (English and Malay), acts as a platform that provides game related news, reviews and interviews from both Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

Apart from live streaming of all the latest games and tournaments, events that focus on local developments, indie developers, meet-ups, e-game tournaments and leagues will also be featured on MyGameOn.
