KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of J-Pop will get to experience popular girl group AKB48 in action when it performs in a live concert for the first time here.
Considered the epitome of “kawaii” the girls from the energetic idol outfit will be thrilling fans at Pavilion KL on July 27.
The free concert, presented by G-Yu Creative Co Ltd and Siam Connection Sdn Bhd, will be held in conjunction with the Japan Expo Malaysia 2019 event at Pavilion.
Since its formation in 2005, the Tokyo-based 48-member idol group has gone from being a national favourite to a global icon.
The music outfit has a loyal fandom around the world which has led to the emergence of 11 sister groups in China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
AKB48 is not just a band but a culture. The group started off with the concept of "idols you can meet." Since then the band has garnered numerous No. 1 hits in Japan, appeared in top commercials and toured around the world.
“AKB48’s record-selling singles surpassing 50 million units, include Fortune Cookies, Soyonara Crawl and UZA. With a huge fanbase here, this concert definitely will be a big treat for them!" says Yuphakaret, founder of G-Yu Creative Co.Ltd.
This enormous group of cute girls in cute outfits have amassed legions of devoted fans, because of impossibly tight choreography paired with heavenly vocals.
Their elaborate stage shows usually leave fans jumping out of their seats and moving along to the songs and chanting its lyrics during live shows.
