KUALA LUMPUR: Musician Zimi has officially left the band Akim & The Majistret (ATM), citing different ideologies and the lack of understanding.
The music composer whose full name is Zarimi Zahari said that he however did not want to blame anyone for the decision.
The 35-year-old said it had been three weeks since he bade farewell to the group.
“In this situation, there’s nothing else I could do. I only stood for what I believed is right and and for my own dignity,” he said in a news report today.
Zimi also hoped that ATM would carry on with what they had been fighting for all this while as it had not been easy for the band to be where they were now.
Besides its frontman Akim, ATM is also made up of Hafiz, Fairuz, Wan and Aji.
Zimi said that his departure from the band did not mean he would leave the music scene entirely, but that he would carry on with projects which had been put on hold all this while.
He plans to come up with a new group called ZIIN and collaborate with other artistes. —
