KUALA LUMPUR: “This is not the time to cook as if Hari Raya is just around the corner,” wrote singer Wan Aishah Wan Ariffin in her Instagram recently.
Instead, the 55-year-old winner of Gegar Vaganza Season 4, reminded Malaysians to ration their food, while observing the Movement Control Order.
“Today I’ve decided to ration food intake by my family members. If we keep cooking up a feast on a daily basis, of course the goods that we’ve stocked up for this stay-at-home period would finish faster and we need to send out the head of our family out to replenish them.
“It’s like sending them out to a war zone. Should we be doing that to our loved ones, just so that we could satisfy our cravings?”
Aishah also said in order not to put anything to waste, they would ensure that there would be no leftovers on their dining table.
“Especially those with many children, rationing food intake is perhaps the best way to control everyone from over-eating and clearing up the food pantry too fast,” she said.
