KUALA LUMPUR: Vivo Malaysia has launched Vivo V5, which is dubbed as the “Perfect Selfie” camera phone.

The Android smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch 720p HD IPS LCD display and 2.5D Corning Gorilla curved glass for added protection.

It is powered by the Mediatek MT6750 chipset, which has an octa-core 1.5GHz 64-bit processor with 4GBs of RAM and 32GBs of internal storage.

It packs a large 3,000 mAH battery which is generally an adequate amount for a smartphone’s battery to last throughout the day.

While it is an Android smartphone, the Vivo V5 utilises a customised version of the popular operating system dubbed as the Funtouch OS 2.6, which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Vivo V5 has a built-in fingerprint sensor which is said to be extremely fast, being able to unlock your device in just 0.2 seconds.

For an improved audio experience, the Vivo V5 is packed with the Vivo AK4376 DAC.

The main highlight of the Vivo V5 is the 13 megapixel main camera with phase detection autofocus and LED flash while the selfie portion will have the world’s first 20 megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and a soft light for improved low-light performance.

The Vivo V5 is available from Nov 26 2016 onwards and will be retailing for RM1,299.

At the launch, Vivo Malaysia also announced the appointment of pop diva Datuk Siti Nurhaliza as its first brand ambassador.
