KUALA LUMPUR: Crime movie Temuan Takdir has bagged two awards – Best New Director for Dhyan Vimal and Best Original Score for Krishinthen Shanmugam at the recent Los Angeles Film Awards.
Vimal in thanking his cast and crew for their hard work said: “This award is a testament of what we can achieve if we work hard together and come up with a story that celebrates human values.
“Our 90-minute drama may be a police story, but it really talks about relationships between friends and family members, and how honesty and love triumph.”
The movie stars Datuk Zahim Albakri, Vanidah Imran, Azura Zainal, Ery Zukhairi, Thanuja Ananthan, Amai Kamaruddin, Malieq Abdullah and Kiranjit Kaur.
It won Best New Filmmaker at the Chandler International Film Festival, Best Humanitarian Award at the London Film Festival, and the Award of Recognition at the Accolade Global Film Competition. It was also screened at the Idylwild Film Festival in California, the US.
