KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V was today conferred the ‘Darjah Yang Maha Utama Kerabat Diraja Malaysia’ (D.K.M) title by the Malaysian government.

The conferment of the title to His Majesty was done by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at a ceremony at Istana Negara, here.

Sultan Muhammad V was installed as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on December 13 last year.

He succeeded Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, who ended his five-year term as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Dec 12.

Among those present at the ceremony were Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob, Dewan Negara president Datuk S.A. Vigneswaran and Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Datuk Seri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad.

Other notable invitees were Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.-- BERNAMA
