KOTA KINABALU: Nur Fazura Sharifuddin made her first public appearance in Sabah today to promote Neffos smartphone’s new X series to her fans in the state capital.
The 33-year-old actress cum singer held a meet-and-greet session with her fans, who swarmed the Centre Point Shopping Mall atrium just to get up-close with the Neffos brand ambassador.
“I am happy to finally be here, because I have rarely been able to come to Borneo. This is my first public appearance and I am happy to meet my fans. They are so friendly and supportive.
“Prior to this (trip), I visited Sabah twice, but only for holidays, and I didn’t get the chance to enjoy the great seafood Sabah has to offer. I look forward to that and I really hope to return (to Sabah again soon),” Fazura told reporters.
Speaking on her role as Neffos brand ambassador, she said she was attracted by the design and quality of the smartphone.
“Actually, I received an offer to be the ambassador for another smartphone, but I was not interested. I only accepted Neffos’ offer because I felt that the phone is unique in terms of its design and quality,” she said.
Fazura also updated the media on her acting career, for which she is now busy filming her latest drama, entitled “Hero Seorang Cinderella”, in which she collaborates with actor Fattah Amin.
"I have been absent from dramas for years. So, this is my comeback after four years. I agreed to shoot a drama due to the demand from fans.
"Working with Fattah Amin is such a pleasure because he is a very talented actor. (He’s also) hardworking, professional and always seeks to improve himself.
“Because I haven’t acted (in a drama) for a long time, I was nervous on my first day of shooting. The shooting will take another two months to complete, and who knows, I might visit Sabah again to promote the new drama,” she said.
On her singing career, Fazura said she has finished recording three songs, with five others pending, as she is busy with her acting career at the moment.
Once completed, she said her pop and ballad song collection will be inspirational to her fans.
When asked about marriage, Fazura said she has yet to meet that special someone and that she is currently focusing on her career.
"For now, my focus is not on a relationship or marriage. I don’t know when I will meet my soul mate… maybe tomorrow, or maybe later, but for now, I just want to focus on my work,” she said.
