JOHOR BARU: The owner of the Zurin Jundi wedding planner company was once again hauled to court over a charge of cheating a client for a RM5,000 wedding package.
Zurina Ahmad Jundi, 34, pleaded not guilty to the charge at the magistrate's court today.
She was charged with cheating Erhana Nur Asyatiqah Saidon, 25, who was promised a complete wedding package at a cost of RM5,000.
Zurina allegedly commited the offence at a house in Jalan Jasa 7, Taman Mutiara Rini here in March.
The court was told that Erhana paid the amount in full under the pretext of getting a complete wedding package. She later found out that the RM5,000 was not a full package, and that she was deceived into taking the offer.
Deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Mohd Nasir offered bail at RM6,000.
Zurina, who was unrepresented, pleaded for a lower bail citing her financial constraints.
Zurina said that she was in the midst of selling off her office properties and raising money to refund a client who ordered a wedding package.
"Can the amount be lower than RM6,000?" she asked the court.
Magistrate Mohd Azlan Shah Mohd Allias set bail at RM6,000 and fixed Jan 10 for mention.
Zurina, who appeared in court in black tudung and blue sweater, is awaiting trial for three other similar cases involving wedding packages.
On Nov 20, Zurina was charged at a magistrate's court here with cheating a woman into making a RM8,500 deposit for a wedding package, in which the money was transfered into her bank account.
On Oct 19, she was charged at the Klang magistrate's court with two counts of deceiving 54-year-old Zainon Ali by inducing her to hand over RM5,000 through an automated teller machine and another RM2,000 in cash for deposits.
Zurina had committed the offences at the CIMB bank in Port Klang, and the Section 7 commercial area in Shah Alam, Selangor, on March 16 and June 17, respectively.
