PETALING JAYA: Two brothers from India were charged at the Magistrates Court here today with the shocking murder of a married couple whose bodies were found stuffed in suitcases here, last month.
Sagar Sharma, 24, and Shubham Sharma, 19, nodded in understanding when they were jointly charged before Mohamad Ikhwan Mohd Nasir, this morning.
Both appeared calm as they were ushered into the dock.
However, no plea was recorded from either of the accused.
According to the charge sheet, the duo, who worked as security guards, murdered Lim Ah Kee @ Lim Kok Hoe, 79, and Tan Siew Mee, 52, at a house near Jalan USJ 21/10 between 8pm on Aug 23 and 3.20am on Aug 24.
The offence falls under Section 302 of Penal Code, which carries the mandatory death sentence.
Deputy public prosecutor Hakim Amir Abdul Hamid prosecuted, while counsels Gerard Lazarus and Gabriel Susayan represented the accused.
The court set Nov 18 for mention.
The accused are believed to have been the tenants of a house belonging to the two victims, who lived in a rented condominium unit in USJ.
The suitcase containing Tan’s body was found by two telecommunications company technicians at Jalan Persiaran Kuala Selangor in Section 27 at 5.30am on Aug 26.
Tan was identified based on a fingerprint check with the National Registration Department.
Three days later, police discovered Lim's remains, which had been stuffed in a similar suitcase, dumped in a drain in Alam Megah.
