KUALA LUMPUR: Former Sea Games gymnastics champion Kau Git Kaur is alleged to be among 17 people arrested during a police raid on a private ‘drug party’ at a condominium in Puchong, on Sunday.
The 53-year-old, who won an artistic gymnastics gold in 1991 in Manila, is also the deputy president of the Malaysian Gymnastics Federation (MGF).
It is learnt that the MGF suspended Git Kaur after learning of his arrest.
Others detained in the drug bust allegedly include Dengkil assemblyman Adhif Syan Abdullah and a number of political special officers.
During a press conference on Sunday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said that 16 of the 17 who were arrested tested positive for illicit drugs.
