RANTAU PANJANG: During normal days, trader Mohd Khairil Azwa will only get a small income from selling cold drinks and fish satay, but he has been enjoying exceptionally brisk business since the start of the flood season.

Over the past six days, the 30-year-old trader has been making up to RM600 a day.

Mohd Khairil, whose mobile stall is attached to his motorcycle, said he was very pleased with his earnings.

"Rising floodwaters in Rantau Panjang town has prompted many people to pass through this area and when they do so, they spend money buying my satay and drinks.

"I did not expect to get such a huge daily income," said Mohd Khairil who operates his business at Banggol Kulim here.

He said he starts trading from noon until 8pm every day and receives more than 100 customers every day.
