KOTA KINABALU: Consultation and close cooperation between Federal ministries and their counterparts are vital in the implementation of projects, says Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman.

He said it is only through regular consultation that Federal ministries would know what Sabah's needs are.

Musa expressed his appreciation to Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for setting up the Rural and Regional Development Ministry - Sabah government Project Planning and Monitoring Main Joint Committee.

Ismail, meanwhile, assured the Sabah government that it will always be consulted on any development programmes under his ministry to be implemented in Sabah.

“The state government knows best the development needs of Sabah and therefore, what projects should be implemented,” he said.

He said all projects under the ministry will undergo a joint working committee consisting of both representatives from the state and Federal ministries.
