KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan government has declared a state holiday on Sunday (Dec 9) to boost attendance for the rally in the federal capital on Dec 8, to mark Malaysia’s rejection of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said this was to give the opportunity to the people of Kelantan to express their love for the country, with a message on the importance to maintain harmony in a multi-racial community.

“InsyaAllah, we will gather in peace and with good behaviour without any forms of provocation and comply with the guidelines and directions from the authorities,” he said after the state executive council meeting here today.
