KUALA LUMPUR: In stepping up the newspaper print campaign for three papers – New Straits Times, Berita Harian and Harian Metro– the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) has proactively gone to the ground to promote and distribute the papers to the public nationwide.
NSTP Sales, Production and Distribution general manager Sazali Hashim said amidst the rise of news content in the digital era, NSTP was optimistic that by promoting newspapers to the people it could build a reading nation.
“The contents in all three papers should be comprehensive and inclusive. All news worthy contents should be added into the paper rather than the online platform.
“Our sales, production and distribution team will frequently go out to promote the print campaign to the people. It is a yearly campaign.
“That is how we attract and gain more readers or buyers to purchase our papers despite the fact that everything now can be searched on the internet,” he told NST.
Today, Sazali’s team comprising staff leader Mohd Fahri Kamalludin and his assistants Nor Izwan Shah Razali and Mohd Faizal Abdul Munir distributed the three NSTP newspapers to the public at Pasar Paya Jaras in Sungai Buloh.
Sazali said the response from the people to the campaign so far was very good.
“We also carried out the newspaper sales ground activation at Semenyih yesterday.
“We will be heading to Kota Baru (Kelantan), Kangar (Perlis), Alor Setar (Kedah), Prai (Penang) and Ipoh (Perak) next week.
“We managed to distribute more than 200 copies per activation for all three publications. The response was really good,” he added.
