PUTRAJAYA: Deputy PKR Youth chief Muhammad Hilman Idham has admitted that he met Muhammad Haziq Abdul following the release of a viral gay sex video allegedly depicting the latter and Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Azmin Ali.

Betul, (it's true) the meeting did take place,” he told reporters after lodging a qazaf (false accusation of illicit sex) report with the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) today.

Hilman, however, declined to elaborate what had transpired in the meeting.

Pressed further, Hilman said: “There’s no need for that. I have submitted the details to the police. Give them (the authorities) space (to conduct their investigations).”

He also declined to elaborate on the details of the reports that he had submitted to the authorities.

Haziq was reported to have confessed that he was one of the men in the said viral lewd video.

He had posted on his Facebook, claiming he had met Hilman, who is also Azmin's political secretary, at a restaurant in the administrative capital where he had been asked to deny it was Azmin in the video and was asked to lie for him.

Hilman reiterated his earlier statements, stressing that the sex video and the allegations made against Azmin was extremely malicious in nature aimed to smear Azmin's reputation, and a conspiracy to block the PKR deputy president's political advancement.

“We will cooperate with the police in their investigations,” Hilman added.

On the qazaf report, Hilman said the report was made to protect Azmin's good name.

Qazaf refers to the Shariah offence of accusing another Muslim of illicit sex without providing the stipulated four eyewitnesses.

Under Section 41 of the Shariah Criminal Offences (Federal Territories) Act 1997, the offence is punishable with a fine of not more than RM5,000, a jail term of not more than three years, or both.
