Fear over pothole-ridden stretch in Sungai Buloh

MOTORISTS at Jalan Kusta, off Jalan Hospital, in Sungai Buloh are worried potholes on the 2- km stretch.

The complainant, who refused to be identified, said the road was managed by Selayang Municipal Council.

“I have lodged several complaints on the potholes but so far no action has been taken by the authorities,” he said.

He said the authorities should patch up the potholes to avert any accidents.

ACTIONLINE:

A SELAYANG Municipal Council (MPS) officer said repairs would start as soon as possible.

“We have dispatched workers to fix the potholes and they will be temporarily patched,” he said.

However, the potholes might recur as the road was frequently used by drivers of heavy vehicles, he added.

He said MPS was working on funding from the Malaysian Road Records Information System (Marris) to do a proper, long-lasting patch-up job.

“We must wait for Marris to approve the funding application first.”

He said patch-ups had been done twice this year -- on Feb 20 and March 9.
