RESIDENTS of Block A1, Seksyen 2, Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, are complaining that the occupant of a unit has installed two security grilles in the corridor, making it impassable to residents.
A resident said this posed a safety hazard to occupants of the floor.
“The residents, especially those living in the same floor, are encountering difficulties after the owner installed
two security grilles in the corridor.
“There are six units on each level at this five-storey apartment.
“In case of emergencies, it will block residents’ access to the stairs.”
Complaints have been made to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall
and the management committee.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said the department would investigate and issue a fire abatement notice.
A City Hall spokesman said the unit had been sold to its owner, and was therefore, not within the purview of the authority.
“Residents have to refer this case to the management committee to resolve the issue,” he said.
