PWD allocation needed for repairs

A MAN who worships regularly at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque in Shah Alam has expressed concern over faulty fan and lamps in the main prayer hall.

He said they had stopped working for three months.

“This should not have been allowed to happen at the state mosque, which the Sultan of Selangor visits frequently to performs Friday prayers.”

He said the mosque management should have carried out the repairs as soon as possible.

A spokesman said the management of the mosque was waiting for an allocation from the Public Works Department (PWD) to carry out the repairs.

“Our maintenance team has already sent a request to PWD for repair works pertaining to the mosque’s facilities to be done.”

He said the faulty electrical appliances included a fan, lamps and air-conditioning units.

“We understand that the place may be hot but we are not allowed to repair the equipment without the approval of PWD.

“We are following up with the department. The repairs will be carried out soon,” he said.
