Potholed stretch draws flak

RESIDENTS at Subang Suria in Section U5, Shah Alam, are concerned that a damaged and uneven road in their neighbourhood may pose a danger to motorists.

Resident Sunan Basairi, 57, said the stretch in Persiaran Atmosfera had been in bad shape for the past year.

“Most road users who ply this stretch do not notice the potholes and uneven surface until it is too late. It leads them to make sudden manoeuvres to avoid the potholes at the risk of crashing the vehicles.

“It is more dangerous at night as there are no street lights here,” he told the New Straits Times.

Sunan said the residents were fed up as their complaints had fallen on deaf ears. He hoped the authorities would look into the matter before any untoward incidents happened.

ACTIONLINE:

A Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) spokesman said the location was under the purview of the housing developer.

He said MBSA had instructed the developer to take action to resolve the problem.

The council has also notified the Petaling Land and District Office.
