Wastewater damaging walkway

THE overflowing wastewater on the pedestrian walkway that connects the multistorey parking lot in Taman Segar and Cheras Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station has inconvenienced users and residents in the area.

Resident Chua Ah Hock said the
path was affected by a leaking sewage pipe.

“MRT users and residents are uncomfortable whenever they have to use the walkway due to the stagnant wastewater,” said Chua.

“The path is also covered with moss and becomes slippery particularly during rainy days.

“People also cannot stand the foul odour coming from the wastewater whenever they have to pass by the walkway.”

He said Taman Segar was a hive of activity, particularly on weekends, as it had many eateries, shops and a shopping mall.

“Therefore, I hope the authorities
can take action to address this problem.”
