A 1.8M-DEEP opening of an uncovered drain is endangering pedestrians in Jalan Pantai Baru, Kuala Lumpur.
A woman, who wanted to be known only as Azimah, said she recently fell into the gaping hole at 6am while walking to a bus stop.
“What I had hoped to be a good day, turned into a bad dream when I fell into the hole.
“I sprained my ankle and as it was so deep, I couldn’t climb out.”
Azimah said she had to wait more than 15 minutes for someone to rescue her.
“I was traumatised and it was dark. It didn’t help that I am claustrophobic. It is not something I want to remember.”
Azimah said Kuala Lumpur City Hall should quickly fix the problem.

A City Hall spokesman told Actionline: “DBKL will send officers to the location to assess the problem.
“The problem will be fixed within a week.”
He added that such issues should be reported to City Hall through its call centre at 1800-88-3255 or submit a complaint at www.dbkl.gov.my
