Residents want uneven road paved

Residents in Jalan Abang Haji Openg, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, want the City Hall to repair the uneven road in their area.

A resident, who wanted to be known only as Fadli, said the drive shaft of  his vehicle was damaged recently due to the poor road condition.

“I was driving on the road when I heard a loud metal breaking sound. When I checked, the drive shaft of  my car was broken.”

He said the uneven road was a nuisance to motorists. “We have to drive very slowly.”

Fadli said he and fellow residents had lodged complaints with the City Hall.

Checks by the Actionline yesterday showed several vehicles parked on the uneven road. A resident, who wanted to be known only as Lim, said the road had been in need of repairs for a long time.

“Visitors to my house usually park their vehicles along the stretch. On a few occasions, they had encountered flat tyres due to the rocky surface.”

ACTIONLINE:

City Hall public relations officer Hassan Azhari Abu Bakar said a team from the department would check the road soon.

“We will check before taking action.

“Road works carried out in that stretch may have contributed to the problem.”
