Road to chaos in Bangsar

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has been urged to take action against motorists who double park their vehicles, as well as hawkers who operate their businesses illegally, in Jalan Sena and Lorong Maarof in Bukit Bandaraya, Bangsar.

Bukit Bandaraya Residents Association adviser Datuk M. Ali said the two roads were congested because of poor planning by the local authorities.

“Motorists double park their vehicles in these roads. Some of them even park in front of a house, making it difficult for residents to drive in and out.

“Buses that ply these roads find it difficult to pass between the parked vehicles, and the situation is going from bad to worse.

“It is a safety hazard to motorists and pedestrians. We have lodged complaints with City Hall, but nothing has been done.

“Also, there are about five hawkers operating illegally.

“We urge the local authorities to do something about this.”

ACTIONLINE:

Kuala Lumpur City Hall enforcement senior deputy officer Osman Ismail told Actionline that action had been taken against motorists in Bukit Bandaraya.

“We will continue taking action against motorists who break the law.

“Besides enforcing the law, we will also engage and educate motorists on the do’s and don’ts.”

“If they still refuse to adhere to the law, action will be taken against them.”
