MBSA: Trees, shrubs blocking traffic signs pruned

SHAH ALAM: Residents are concerned that overgrown trees and shrubs are a danger to road users here.

Kamaruddin Hassan told Actionline that overgrown trees and shrubs were blocking traffic signs in Persiaran Kayangan.

“Persiaran Kayangan can be considered the “main road” in this city. It starts from Section 12 and moves to Sections 11, 10, 9, 5, 8, 6 and 7,” he said.

“Visitors who come to Shah Alam cannot avoid driving through parts of this road.”

Kamaruddin urged Shah Alam City Council to get its contractors to trim the tree branches so that visitors could see the direction signs clearly.

ACTIONLINE:

Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) said the trees were pruned shortly after it was notified of the problem.

A MBSA spokesman said the city council would ensure that traffic signs were not blocked at intersections.

He said trees and shrubs would be trimmed as soon as the city council was informed of a problem.
