A damaged concrete drainage cover in Jalan Larut, George Town, is left unfixed, posing a danger to pedestrians.
A lamp post affixed to it appears to be on the verge of falling.
A pedestrian said people had no choice but to walk on it as it was located by the roadside.
“It’s hard to walk on it and it is a matter of time before it collapses.
“Things could be worse if someone fell into the drain.”

Penang Island City Council’s Infrastructure and Traffic Committee alternate chairman Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik said the council had located the site and would fix it soon. “We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
