Johor inks MoUs with Chinese companies on robotics system, waste-to-energy operation

SHANGHAI: Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin today held talks with Beijing Huize Boyuan Robot Investment Company Ltd to develop the robotics sector in the state.

Khaled led the Malaysian delegates while Beijing Huize Boyuan was represented by its chairman Hao Zhangang.

The Johor delegation included Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) chief executive officer Datuk Azman Mahmud, Johor state secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani and Johor Corporation (JCorp) president and chief executive Datuk Kamaruzzman Abu Kassim.

According to Khaled, Beijing Huize Boyuan is one of the main companies providing robotics systems in China.

Two memoranda of understanding were inked, one with Beijing Huize Boyuan for a robotics system deal and the other was with Everbright International Ltd, which is Asia’s biggest waste-to-energy investor and operator.

Khaled also gave a keynote address during a roundtable meeting with 20 potential Chinese investors at Jing An Shangri-La Hotel here.

The Menteri Besar is on a four-day official visit to Shanghai until Sunday.
