Indian outsourcing firm picks Medini City for its training centre

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Johor: India-based outsourcing recruitment company Aegis Ltd has chosen to expand its Asia Pacific business networking in the Iskandar Region with the opening of its Business Process Outsourcing training centre in Medini City here.

The training centre, which will provide skill-related workforce needed in various field including technology-based solutions, telecommunications, retail, consumer and hospitality, was officially opened by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

According to Aegis global chief executive officer Sandip Sen, Aegis will become a competitive force in outsourcing competent and skilled workers for the required industries and increase job employment rate especially in the Iskandar Malaysia region.

He added that with the expansion, it had created over 500 job opportunities that will cater for the Iskandar region's needs and will create more in the future.

"We target to create more than 700 employment alone with an investment of about RM200 million by 2020," he said.

Khaled also echoed the same sentiment, saying that almost RM6.5 billion will be reaped just from investors from the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) operation as it creates over 14,000 job opportunities in the Iskandar region by 2020.

He said Aegis is the 10th companies involved in BPO operation in Iskandar Malaysia which significantly showed a good prospect for Johor to be a leading player for increasing the employability of workers for the various market.

"We are on target and we hope to reach that by 2020," Khaled said.
