Dutch Lady's net profit down 12.2pc

KUALA LUMPUR: Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd’s net profit decreased 12.20 per cent to RM32.23 million in the second-quarter (Q2) ended June 30, 2017 as compared toRM36.71 million in Q2 last year due to higher material prices.

In an exchange filing today, the company’s revenue increased 6.83 per cent in Q2 to RM263.54 million from RM246.69 million in the same period a year ago on the back of higher cost of sales.

“The overall domestic market is expected to remain challenging with poor consumer sentiment, higher material prices and weak Malaysian ringgit,” it said.

Moving forward, the company noted it would remain focused and committed to leverage on the strength of the Dutch Lady brand and the quality offerings to the Malaysian consumers.
