Econpile wins RM119.1m job to redevelop TNB quarters

KUALA LUMPUR: Piling and foundation specialist Econpile Holdings Bhd has won a RM119.1 million contract from Bayu Mantap Sdn Bhd to undertake substructure and basement works for the redevelopment of Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s quarters here.

The contract entails works for the planned mixed development with two tower blocks.

The blocks comprise a 45-storey corporate tower with a seven-storey multi-level carpark and a 57-storey tower containing serviced residences and a hotel, as well as a two-storey commercial development with a four-storey basement carpark.

The contract spans across 22 months.

Econpile chief exceutive officer Raymond Pang said mixed developments in choice locations in the Klang Valley is preferred, given its capacity to cater to various target markets.

“We have completed works for various mixed developments over the years and our current undertakings include Pavilion Damansara Heights and Oxley Towers, located in areas of high land values where underground parking is preferred.

“Along with this latest award, we have secured five contracts totaling RM441.9 million in the current year ending June 2018,” he said.

With this new job, Pang said the group’s current order book now stands at RM1.4 billion, which should be recognised over the next three years.
