ISKANDAR PUTERI: Property developer UEM Sunrise Bhd is confident that the property market in Johor, especially for landed properties, would remain strong for this year.
Its chief operating officer (development) Datuk Roslan Ibrahim said buyers are still looking to buy properties that offer them good deals.
"The demand for landed properties is still strong. Property buyers are also smart, they won't wait long to buy a property, especially if they see a good deal for them.
"That is why we try to give what the buyers want. For our Serimbun project, I am confident that it will do well," said Roslan.
He was speaking to the media after the media launch of the Serimbun project. Also present was UEM Sunrise chief marketing officer Pam Loh.
The project features 215 units of double storey terrace houses located on a 9.6 hectare land near Bukit Indah. It is expected to be completed by January 2020 and have a gross development value of RM139.3 million.
Roslan said so far, the company have received more than 1,500 registrations from buyers who are interested in the development.
The company's focus for the next few years will be the development of the Gerbang Nusajaya project which is located near the proposed station for the High Speed Rail (HSR) project.
"The HSR project is a game changer. We will focus on the development of Gerbang Nusajaya because we want the area to be well developed by the time the station is ready for operation," said Roslan.
He said the company still has over 2,832.8 hectares in Iskandar Puteri that are still undeveloped.
