Canon Marketing appoints Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia as communications agency

KUALA LUMPUR: Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a photographic and digital imaging solutions company, has appointed Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia as its communications agency beginning March 2018 for a period of one year.

Ogilvy will manage all public relations and influence activities for Canon Marketing Malaysia across its corporate, consumer and business divisions to include all products from cameras and printers to multifunctional devices and professional printing solutions.

Canon Marketing Malaysia’s head of corporate communications Patrick Lim said Ogilvy demonstrated a deep understanding of its brand and the direction in which the company was headed.

"Canon has a vision in terms of the company we are, where our customers remain our main priority. What our customers know about us – our brand and product offerings – matters to us greatly.

"Ogilvy is working with us to reflect this. They showed that they can manage a multiple approach PR outreach from strategic communications planning across our communications to consumers and business customers," Lim said.

Ogilvy chief executive officer David Mayo said the company is extremely privileged to be working with one of Malaysia's (and indeed the World's) leading brands to develop and execute plans that not only influences the way people look at cameras, printers, and photocopiers, but also consolidates Canon’s leadership in key sectors.
