KUALA LUMPUR: Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) will be the first to award a terrace house as the main prize for visitors at the Malaysian Trust Fund Week (MSAM) 2018 to be held at Batu Pahat Stadium in Johor.
PNB chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar said this year, the company targets 150,000 visitors to attend during the MSAM event, which will be from April 19 to April 25, 2018.
He said the program has been a PNB annual event held since 2000 and has attracted 3.6 million visitors.
"The annual event is aimed at enhancing the community's knowledge of investment and financial planning.
"At the same time, the exhibition also gives visitors the opportunity to understand unit trust investments, especially in the investment risks," he said at the pre-launching of MSAM 2018 here yesterday.
Also present was PNB president and chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Rahman Ahmad, chairman of Malayan Banking Bhd Datuk Mohaiyani Shamsudin, chairman of UMW Holdings Bhd Group Tan Sri Hamad Kama Pian Che Othman, executive deputy chairman and managing director of Sime Darby Plantation Bhd Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh and president and chief executive officer of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid Salleh.
This year, MSAM 2018 will introduce 13 PNB investment companies as its corporate partners.
The main prize, which is a central unit terrace house at Bandar Universiti Pagoh was developed by Sime Darby Property that costs RM375,000.
Among other prizes awaiting visitors at the launch were Hyundai Ioniq Kappa 1.6 HEV Plus while Toyota Vios 1.5 GX (AT) for the closing ceremony.
Meanwhile, Abdul Wahid said, in contrast to last year, the MSAM 2018 exhibition will also feature digital elements via MSAM 2018 mobile applications.
Through this app, visitors can get more information about each program or event during MSAM 2018 and sign up for any event.
Among the programs that will take place during the MSAM 2018 include the ASING Children's Financial Planning Camp, PNB Mega Investment Club School Investment Game, Takaful Ikhlas Junior High School, CCM Duopharma Interschool Showdown and MSAM Entrepreneurs Symposium 2018.
